Logistics and Distribution Peer Group Meeting

Import/Export Compliance Best Practices
February 19, 2019 09:00 AM - 02:45 PM
Discover how UWEBC members are tackling import/export compliance issues in today’s turbulent environment.

More than ever, trade compliance is an important component of the supply chain that extends beyond the process of sourcing and/or selling internationally. From trade wars, cost mitigation and shifting production, this topic is both timely and key to running a successful supply chain with visibility across the entire company.

There is no set standard in which our member companies structure compliance internally. From having a dedicated compliance team, on-staff customs brokers to using third party brokers and everything in between, learn how others are structuring their compliance both currently and if they plan to change in the future.

We have slated Ruth Girmscheid, a licensed customs broker and President of International Customs Services to come speak to how to mitigate risk in today’s environment and what Wisconsin based companies can do to better operate in this ever changing field. Also a licensed customs broker, Julie Pojar, Manager International Trade Compliance at Kohler will come in to speak about her experience building a compliance process and structure and a look at how she is strategically planning the future of trade compliance at Kohler. One more speaker looking at trade compliance from a legal perspective to be confirmed.
