ANSWERS

  1. Why has the UWEBC Annual Conference been changed from in-person to virtual?
Based upon information provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and other authorities, physical gatherings will continue to present risk for coronavirus transmission into the foreseeable future. The safety of our attendees, partners and employees takes precedence over other factors. For that reason, we've replaced the in-person gathering with a virtual conference.

  2. When will the UWEBC Annual Conference virtual experience take place?
The Business Best Practices & Emerging Technologies conference will launch on Thursday, September 24 from 8:30 am-3:00 pm. The conference will continue on Friday, September 25 from 8:30 am-12:00 pm. More information on the updated agenda coming soon!

  3. I am registered for the conference, when will I receive information on how to access the virtual experience?
Registrants will receive information on how to access the virtual experience the week of the conference.

  4. Will UWEBC refund all purchased passes?
All purchased passes for this year’s conference will be converted into a digital pass for this year’s virtual conference. Please stay tuned for more information on what the benefits of our conference pass will include. We are packing more learning content into an easier experience and commit to your satisfaction and delight. The existing refund policy is still in practice and can be found here.

  5. Has the price of the conference changed now that it is virtual?
The registration price has been discounted an additional $100! The new conference pricing is as follows:
    UWEBC members Nonmembers
    Through Aug 31 $595 $495 $495 $595
    Sept 1-Sept 24 $695 $595 $795 $695

  6. I have registered for the in-person event, am I automatically registered for the virtual event?
Yes, re-registration is not required. If you have already registered for the UWEBC Annual Conference originally scheduled for September 24 in Madison, you will be automatically registered for the virtual conference on September 24 and 25.

  7. Can I apply a conference pass to future years?
You may transfer your pass to a colleague if you are no longer able to attend, but passes are not transferable to future years.

  8. Will I be able to change tracks during the virtual event?
Yes! Just like our in-person conference, attendees will be given time between sessions to switch between tracks.

  9. Will virtual events be recorded for viewing later or must an attendee attend at the designated time slot?
We will record as much content as possible for on-demand viewing. Some content and experiences may only be available during the live virtual event, so we encourage our registrants to join us live for maximum engagement.

  10. Will there still be an opportunity to network with other attendees and sponsors?
Yes! You will be able to add to your virtual experience through opportunities to network with both other attendees and sponsors. More information coming soon!

  11. What happens to my hotel reservation if I have already booked an accommodation?
Attendees who reserved a room outside the UWEBC conference block will need to contact their hotel directly to cancel their reservations.

  12. I have questions not answered above, who do I contact?
If you have any questions that have not been answered in the FAQs above, please email our Events Team at events@uwebc.wisc.edu.
