Xiaoyang Long is the Wisconsin Naming Partners Professor and an associate professor in Operations and Information Management at the Wisconsin School of Business. Her research examines how customer behavior interacts with operational systems, such as e-commerce platforms, recommender systems, and fast-fashion supply chains, revealing how operational design directly shapes customer experience, trust, and sustainability outcomes. Using rigorous modeling and empirical methods, Professor Long provides evidence-based insights into choice overload, fairness, and decision-making in modern customer journeys. Her award-winning research appears in leading journals, and she currently serves as President of the INFORMS Behavioral Operations Management Section, bringing a unique operations-driven perspective to customer experience strategy.
