Description

UWEBC is convening an exclusive HR Executive Session focused on building a future-ready workforce for leaders navigating the intersection of AI, rapid skill evolution, and organizational transformation.

The session will be hosted by Amy Best, CHRO of Alliant Energy, alongside Doug Barton of UW E-Business Consortium, who will open the day by framing the accelerating convergence of AI adoption, skills velocity, and the growing need for organizational adaptability.

Amy will share how Alliant Energy is approaching workforce transformation as a strategic imperative—redefining how talent is developed, deployed, and empowered.

This is a practitioner-led discussion where HR executives will exchange real-world strategies, challenges, and insights.

The session will conclude with a working synthesis, where participants will identify concrete commitments to take back to their organizations—ensuring ideas translate into action.

This is a working, discussion-based session designed for HR leaders who are actively shaping the future of work, workforce capability, and organizational resilience.

Key Learning Outcomes

Together we expect to challenge ourselves to consider how their organizations can:

  •        Build AI fluency at scale beyond pilot programs
  •        Shift from static roles to dynamic, skills-based talent models
  •       Reframe AI as a tool for employee empowerment amid declining engagement
  •        Sustain culture and connection during periods of continuous transformation
  •       Equip managers to act as “supermanagers”—driving innovation, not just execution
