Join us at the University of Wisconsin–Madison for an inspiring afternoon of innovation, exploration, and professional development at the Women in Manufacturing Wisconsin Chapters Event. This event features a keynote from renowned industrial engineering expert Dr. Laura Albert who will provide a compelling overview of how industrial engineering is driving efficiency, resilience, and impact across industries. Attendees will have a choice of guided tours of state-of-the-art research labs, including the UW Nuclear Reactor, the Polymer Engineering Center, HSX fusion experiment, Manufacturing Innovation Network (MIN) Lab, and more. Participants will attend a training highlight session on AI, additive manufacturing, maintenance and reliability, and leadership strategies led by industry experts. The event will end with a casual networking reception of academic and industry leaders at Varsity in Union South.
As the manufacturing sector evolves in response to global challenges, industrial engineering stands at the forefront of innovation. In this keynote, Dr. Laura Albert will provide a compelling overview of how industrial engineering is driving efficiency, resilience, and impact across industries. Drawing from her extensive research in operations research, Dr. Albert will discuss practical strategies for applying analytics to real-world problems—from safeguarding infrastructure to enhancing public safety. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the tools, trends, and frameworks shaping the future of manufacturing and logistics.
