Description
The health and safety of our members is the UWEBC’s top priority. UW–Madison is monitoring the COVID-19 situation in collaboration with local, state and federal agencies. Based on campus' guidance, this meeting will be held via web only to allow our members a convenient and safe way to attend.
With demand for all products affected overnight, depending on your business, you were either behind fulfilling orders or sitting on inventory that was not moving due to lack of demand or nowhere to sell through/deliver. In this meeting we will take a look at lessons we have collectively learned and present data on the effects the last 4 months on the supply chain from raw materials through to final delivery of goods (B2B and B2C). And now we have data, where do we go from here?
James MacDonnell, Director, Crisis Management & Business Continuity for BDO will take us through the aftershocks and new threat vectors coming from the pandemic and how we can avoid them, he will also discuss how you balance the lowest cost while maintaining resiliency and agility. Opex Analytics will show us their free demand sensing tools they have stood up since the pandemic hit. Opex measures things like port throughput and the stabilizing of freight patterns and how their clients are using this data to further protect themselves from risk.
We will be recruiting a panel of member companies to share how their journey went and how they see the next few months panning out chatting about everything from what does their long term back to work strategy look like to how are they woking with suppliers to get inventory levels right and everything in between.
