Description
The health and safety of our members is the UWEBC’s top priority. UW–Madison is monitoring the COVID-19 situation in collaboration with local, state and federal agencies. Based on campus' guidance, this meeting will be held via web only to allow our members a convenient and safe way to attend.
Fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace is critical for the continued success of every organization. Being successful in this regard goes beyond recruiting a diverse workforce that includes a range of ages, ethnicities, religions and perspectives. It also requires the creation of a core organizational culture where all people are respected and appreciated. In this HR Executives SIG event, you will have an exceptional opportunity to learn from subject matter experts and peer HR leaders regarding steps that you can follow to take your organization’s diversity and inclusion initiative to the next level.
The program will begin with an insightful presentation by Ruben Hillar, senior member of the Leadership and Succession Practice and DEI Advisory team at Russell Reynolds Associates. He will focus on how organizations can build equitable talent management practices (throughout the recruitment, development, and retention cycle) that are free from, or minimize the impact of, bias. Ruben will discuss original research that Russell Reynolds conducted with its proprietary Equitable Talent Management database. Ruben will also present a benchmarking analysis of talent management practices based on a pre-event survey of HR leaders from UWEBC member companies who register for this event.
The second segment of the program will feature Deborah Biddle, founder and chief consultant at The People Company. Deborah will discuss a systematic approach for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Organizational Assessment, a critical foundational phase in the development of the strategic roadmap to enhance organizational diversity and inclusion. DEI Assessment provides a data-driven understanding of organizational current state, identifies opportunities to deepen DEI commitment, and guides decisions around strategic resourcing and action planning. Deborah will share best practices for assessing your organizational culture and how to leverage the assessment results to guide your DEI initiative.
Following these two presentations, we will engage in small group breakouts in which you will be able to engage with your peers to share and learn from each others’ experiences with enhancing organizational diversity and inclusion.
Don’t miss this exclusive event! Your valuable takeaways will include:
- A deeper understanding of where and how bias can creep into your talent management processes and how to make your talent management practices more equitable.
- Using DEI organizational assessment to help develop and support your DEI strategic roadmap.
- Innovative ideas to build a playbook of implementable strategies to transform your workplace culture into one that is truly diverse and inclusive - where all people can thrive.
