Matthew Garcia

Matthew Garcia is an Account Executive with Business and Industry Customized Services at Madison College’s School of Professional and Continuing Education, where he partners with manufacturers and other employers navigating shifting workforce demands, emerging technologies, and increasingly complex operations. He holds an MBA from the University of Wisconsin, has completed graduate-level study in artificial intelligence and machine learning through the University of Texas at Austin, and is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, bringing a process improvement lens that treats people, process, and technology as interdependent as industry evolves.

That combination shapes how Matthew works with employers: identifying not just training needs, but the operational and skills gaps behind them, then connecting those needs to Madison College’s education programs, customized training, workforce funding, and technical expertise. His current focus spans advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, process improvement, and leadership development, with particular attention to the link between what industry needs today and what technical education must build toward next.

Matthew’s central argument is that technology adoption and workforce development are not separate conversations. Automation, advanced equipment, data, and AI create value only when organizations have people who know how to use them, improve the processes around them, and adapt as the technology changes. Building that workforce requires manufacturers and educators working together, bringing real industry challenges into the classroom and building clearer pathways for the skills manufacturing will need next.
