Description

The health and safety of our members is the UWEBC’s top priority. UW–Madison is monitoring the COVID-19 situation in collaboration with local, state and federal agencies. Based on campus' guidance, this meeting will be held via web only to allow our members a convenient and safe way to attend.

While scorecards and KPI's are popular topics when discussing managing suppliers, they only tell you how the supplier is doing, a slice of the picture but not the whole picture. In this peer group meeting we will discuss the softer side of managing your supply base in that how you manage and interact with suppliers.

Chris Sawchuk, Principal for The Hackett Group's Global Procurement Advisory practice will be presenting on how to manage your supplier base around current risk. Chris will additionally talk to supplier performance management. We will also discuss sole suppliers, managing diversity and government contracts. Blake Mathies, COO of member company Boston FAM (Furniture and ApplianceMart), will discuss vendor selection in relation to government contracts and mandates. Sherman Barnes (a former UWEBC member as VP at Schneider National) with Trio Trucking, a minority owned business, will discuss advantages in working with MBE's and what suppliers look for in partnering with customers.

Participate in Customizing the Agenda:You’ll have the opportunity to play an active part in shaping the questions for this session – and to maximize its relevance for you – by suggesting questions for our speakers either at sign-up or by asking the moderator during the presentation.
