Description

The health and safety of our members is the UWEBC’s top priority. UW–Madison is monitoring the COVID-19 situation in collaboration with local, state and federal agencies. Based on campus' guidance, this meeting will be held via web only to allow our members a convenient and safe way to attend.

Before the pandemic, the issue of supply chain talent was top of mind for most professionals in our vocation. Not only was it hard to develop and retain our employees, it has been a challenge for most to attract that talent in the first place. Some areas of Wisconsin are harder to drive talent to than others, while regions like Madison don't have a large base to draw on (ex: the need for more procurement talent than is available) versus Milwaukee and the Fox Valley that have plenty of manufacturing talent, but is extremely competitive currently.

COVID has worsened the issue of talent availability here (and everywhere) as supply chains around the globe have become stressed and employees are being lured away with higher wages and flexible working conditions. At this meeting we will look at what makes up a great recruiting program and how to make your roles more resilient for longer term employees while being able to have the bench strength to overcome employees leaving or growth in your supply chain. We will take a look at all levels of the organization from front line associates to supervisors/managers/directors.

We have a great cross-section of speakers and panelists, ready to share best practices for recruiting, engagement and retention. Our Member Panel from Kohler Co, will share their stories on supply chain talent from three unique perspectives. This will be a highly interactive session so come prepared to share your questions, challenges and insights!
