Description

What is the Digital Executive Group of the UW-Madison E-Business Consortium?

Our Digital Executive Group provides a forum for senior executives to explore digital innovation and transformation with other UW E-Business Consortium member companies, knowledgeable tech partners, and UW-Madison leaders. Executives will develop and improve upon innovation capabilities by cultivating the mindset, toolset, and skillset strategies to meet the future confidently. Participation is for UWEBC member companies and others by invitation only.

What is a Pub Talk?

The concept derives from the well-known TEDTalks where leaders give short, provocative speeches based on their areas of expertise. Here the structure gives our presenters 18 minutes to discuss an area of concern or possibility. A pub is a great setting for such a conversation as it’s a gathering place where ideas can mingle.

Why Summerfest Tech?

Driven by a steering committee of Wisconsin’s tech leaders, the fifth annual Summerfest Tech will take place in person on Wednesday, June 29, and Thursday, June 30, 2022. All programming will be accessible virtually and FREE of charge. Summerfest Tech 2022’s focus will be on innovation, collaborations, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and cryptocurrency/non-fungible tokens. This programming draws from tech leaders far and near, but we are especially proud of UWEBC member company participation from American Family, Generac, Master Lock, Northwestern Mutual, Rockwell, Sargento, Sub-Zero Group, and US Cellular (TDS). Register now using the button above.

About the Digital Executive Retreat

Our Digital Executive Retreat comes at the end of the second day, Thursday, June 30, 2022. Whether you participate in person or virtually in Summerfest Tech, we hope you will participate in person in our series of Pub Talks and our exclusive private Summerfest VIP Deck Party afterward. The VIP Deck Party will take place in an area away from the crowds in a shaded, elevated setting with a private bar and restrooms, along with a seating area with an unobstructed view that won’t take you away from the action on stage. Music choices include Indigo Girls and Willow.

Intelligent Hiring: How to Recruit and Adapt in the Era of the Open World Workforce

Many companies are starving for elite talent. The top 20% of Knowledge Workers are only available to those who think differently in order to attract, obtain and retain in the open-world workforce. Talking AI Solutions: The Vital Role of ML and Model Ops

Creating a high-performing AI team requires changing perspectives. Your teams will begin their AI journey as we all do mapping AI onto their existing worldview. They’ll view the model as an isolated component that neatly fits into existing workflows. Encourage your teams to move away from model-centric thinking and toward solution-centric thinking, and you’ll be poised to put more models into production, effectively, responsibly, and efficiently.
